Keep Praying, Your Breakthrough is Coming
In 1 Kings 18:41-44, we see a powerful example of faith and perseverance:
“And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground, and put his face between his knees.
“Go and look toward the sea”, he told his servant. And he went up and looked. “There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back”
The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” So Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, “Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.”
Imagine being Elijah’s servant. He was sent to look for rain seven times before seeing even the smallest sign. By the third or fourth time, many of us would have felt discouraged, maybe even tempted to give up. But he kept going, trusting in what Elijah had spoken.
This passage reminds us that faith doesn’t always see immediate results. Sometimes, when we pray, God doesn’t answer right away. But just because we don’t see anything happening doesn’t mean God isn’t working. Like Elijah and his servant, we are called to believe, persist, and trust – even when the sky looks empty.
That tiny cloud in the distance may seem insignificant, but it was the sign of a downpour on the way. Likewise, God often starts with small beginnings before pouring out His blessings. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep looking – because God is moving and working.
