How to drink coffee properly to receive the full HEALTH benefits
Many people love dark roasted coffee because of its strong roasting aroma and bitter taste. Some people enjoy medium roasted coffee with a light color and taste. We all know that coffee is good for health as long as it is consumed in the right amount. However, the roasting level and what you put in your drink apparently are the key factors to receiving the nutritional benefits.
Based on the recent report in CBN News, a medical researcher, heart surgeon, and author, Steven Gundry, M.D. said that the biggest reason is the plant compounds called polyphenols, which are eaten by our gut bacteria, they’re pre-biotics and very important to the health of our guts, and help preventing cancer.
This may surprise you that the light roast or the medium roast have the most benefits in terms of polyphenols. Dr. Gundry further mentioned that the darker roasts virtually eliminates most of the beneficial polyphenols.
He also further mentioned that milk-based products in coffee will minimize or impede the benefits of polyphenols. People can replace with non dairy products like soy milk, coconut milk.
Yes and not surprisingly, he mentioned on sugar.
