But then I stumbled upon an article that asked: How much time do we actually spend thinking about money? That question opened my eyes. We probably think about money far too often\u2014more than God ever intended us to.<\/p><p>A very close friend of mine, who is also a pastor, once told me there\u2019s a difference between poverty and being poor. At first, I struggled to understand what she meant, because money has always felt like my family\u2019s biggest challenge. But she explained: there are many wealthy people who live with a spirit of poverty. For them, nothing is ever enough. And she\u2019s right. I\u2019ve seen people with plenty of wealth still tormented by money. They fight over it, obsess over it, and live like they have nothing, even though they have more than enough. Everything in their lives revolves around money.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1bde7ac elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1bde7ac\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>So what does Jesus say about money? In Luke 16:10 He said, \u201cHe that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.\u201d Did you catch that? Jesus called money \u201cthat which is least.\u201d When you use your faith in the area of money, you\u2019re actually using it in the smallest area of the kingdom of God. Money is not a big deal to Him. You might think, \u201cWell, it sure feels like a big deal to me!\u201d But that\u2019s exactly the point\u2014we\u2019ve made it bigger than it really is. Jesus warns that if we can\u2019t be faithful with the least\u2014with money\u2014then we won\u2019t be faithful with much.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-696f76f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"696f76f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We cannot serve both God and mammon (money). Either we serve God, or we serve the spirit of mammon. There\u2019s no middle ground. The Bible tells us that Mammon was actually the name of a Syrian god of riches and money. At its core, it carries an attitude that says, \u201cYou don\u2019t need God. Don\u2019t trust Him. Be self-sufficient.\u201d<\/p><p>This spirit wants to rule your life. It lies and promises you security, identity, independence, power, and freedom, but it never delivers. I\u2019ve seen wealthy families destroyed by it\u2014marriages broken, relationships torn apart, and jealousy and selfishness running rampant.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d1a9202 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d1a9202\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>God\u2019s way is different. God says to sow and reap, while Mammon says to buy and keep. God says to give and receive, while Mammon says to cheat and steal. God is generous, but Mammon is selfish. Money itself isn\u2019t good or bad\u2014it\u2019s the spirit influencing how we handle it that matters.<\/p><p>If you believe money can solve your problems instead of God, then the spirit of Mammon is influencing you. That\u2019s why so many people who \u201chave it all\u201d are still drowning in problems.<\/p><p>We need to be careful not to let Mammon govern our steps. God knows our needs, and He wants us to trust Him, not riches. I have to remind myself of this every day. When money gets tight, it\u2019s worth asking: \u201cAm I looking at this from my own perspective, or from God\u2019s?\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b8ea991 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b8ea991\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Don\u2019t give in to the spirit of Mammon. Don\u2019t think you have to be completely self-sufficient. Don\u2019t let it ruin your relationships or steal your peace.<\/p><p>Because here\u2019s the truth: Mammon isn\u2019t just about money\u2014it\u2019s about your doctrine, your faith, your heart. It wants you to turn away from the gospel and rely only on yourself.<\/p><p>So ask yourself: How am I using my resources? Am I trusting God, or my bank account? Is the Spirit of God leading me, or is Mammon? Has money taken such a front seat in my life that it\u2019s all I think about?<\/p><p>For me, I know one thing for certain: I don\u2019t want to put my trust in money. Whether I have millions or nothing at all, the only thing I want is Jesus. He is my rock and foundation. Without Him, I have nothing. You can have all this world\u2014just give me Jesus.<\/p><p>I don\u2019t want fear, greed, or Mammon ruling my life. My hope will always be in Christ. And when God blesses with wealth, I don\u2019t want the wrong driver behind the wheel.
