Today, we had a vision painting session, and one of our painters left this beautiful piece for us. The moment I saw it, it touched my heart deeply. Like many, I’m facing battles of my own, but this painting brought me a sense of comfort and encouragement.
It reminded me that no matter what we go through in life – no matter how broken we feel or how many mistakes we’ve made – God’s love and goodness cover us, piecing us back together.
One thing that stood out to me was how the broken lines were painted in metallic gold rather than black. For me it is a powerful reminder that our brokenness isn’t something to be hidden in darkness or that we are forever broken, but something that can be transformed into something beautiful.
When I see these beautiful broken lines I see healing, hope, grace, and restoration. Even in our struggles and darkest hour, we are being made whole again.
I’m reminded of this Bible verse in Isaiah 61:3 where it reminds me that God gives us “beauty for ashes”
“To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”
What an extraordinary promise to us! It is a great reminder that the broken pieces of our lives are not the end of our story. God is working, turning pain into joy, despair into praise, and brokenness into something beautiful. If you’re feeling broken today, hold on – restoration is coming.
You are beautifully broken, and you are being made whole.
